It’s been suggested basketball’s Lebron James could probably just become a social worker if he really wants to help people. I’m sure he won’t mind having his yearly pay reduced from $37 million to $25,000.

They make big money and know they are getting their message out there. Billionaire sports owners (often liberals like John Henry/Red Sox/Boston Globe) have been able to make all kinds of money from people who watch games and get exposed to advertising. Super Bowl! World Series! NBA championship and the Stanley Cup. When ratings go down, their pay gets cut—but so far there have been more than enough people to still watch. That could change. Also people buying fewer tickets for games,
fewer T shirts, etc.

How do people respond to knee bending and political messages?

—I hate it. Won’t watch the sports.

—I love it and will keep watching.

—I couldn’t care less either way and will keep
watching.

The owners and players are banking (literally) on
options 2 and 3. Will there be enough of a revolt?

At least some celebs are rebelling. The likes of Ricky Gervais are attacking movie stars for their political BS.
Kirstie Alley was very upset at the new rules for the
Oscars about “diversity”. She deleted her tweet about it but still expressed some outrage.

Let’s hope the athletes and owners lose big time.
