There is a strange phenomenon going on in our society. Since mid-March, people have been staying in their homes, never to go outside and breathe the fresh air. You know why they are doing this. They do not want to get the COVID-19 virus. We have the same fear. We travel less often. We work from home. We shop online. We telephone our loved ones instead of visiting them. The difference is that we get out of the house once in a while. Why are others locking themselves into their homes?
The answer is political. The recluses want to blame President Trump for as much as possible. As an analogy, consider your favorite football team. If they play well, the quarterback gets the lion's share of the credit. If they lose, it is considered to be the quarterback's fault. This is true even if the quarterback played well and the defense did poorly.
With the football game called COVID-19, if the country handles it poorly, it is the president's fault. This means that if one wants to find fault with the president, he hopes to see the country do poorly. It would be even better if the fault-finder could say he personally suffered from COVID-19 and therefore from the president. He wishes to maximize his suffering.
One way to maximize one's suffering is to confine oneself. This could be called a type of self-harm....

No, Leftist lies about what is now actually a political pandemic are separating a lot of us - just as planned.
This is the first virus discovered that hates Trump.
We need to get a clue and stand opposed wherever and however we can.
This is a Leftist opportunity to take the actual COVID virus and try to expand it to their advantage - to use it to try to defeat Trump and America.
It’s a ridiculous article because it assumes that all of these people wanted to be reclusive since March.
And your question should we care is even too ridiculous to answer.
Since members of this board have been affected I would say the answer is yes without having to think that hard
People will tolerate this as long as the grocery stores stay full(ish) and the electricity keeps flowing.
Yews, this is a terrible crisis. The whole point of this is to shut down our society, destroy our civic and religious institutions, and muzzle us so we cant even talk to each other individually.
And nobody seems to notice it, not even people here on FR.
The biggest danger we face right now are people who cannot, ever, admit they were wrong, about anything. You know who they are.
They’ve believed and Facebooked and Tweeted every dire thing the TV people told them about this horrifying epidemic. They own it now. People who say the situation is getting better are babbling blasphemy.
These are the Karens beating people over the head for not wearing masks. They’re obsessed, and crazy, and perfect pawns for despotic governors to use.
FTA on this post:
“If this theory is true, then there will be a correlation between reclusiveness and being a Democrat. There is. According to Pew Research, 65% of Republicans would be comfortable going to a restaurant compared to 28% of Democrats. Pew’s other statistics show the same trend.”
From another article I just posted: “When the economy contracted, employment declined most for the working class and poor. At first, a $600 boost to unemployment benefits more than offset this loss income-wise for many, but the boost is expired now. Meanwhile, jobs for the well-to-do barely declined and have fully rebounded.”

What types of people generally work at restaurants? The well-to-do?
So if we have many Demonrats not engaging in commerce for whatever reason- irrational assumptions that the ‘rona is killing 9% of the population, a desire to send the economy into a tailspin, no matter how terminal, in order to prevent Orange Man Bad from being relected- I seriously ask how much should we really care about their well-being as fellow humans when they are hurting so many other fellow humans?
Granted some people live in states with governors that might make Stalin look like Santa Claus in comparison and have not had much of a chance to try to help keep their local diner in business.
I’m not talking about those people who would have called up their friends and family and met them down at The Reo Diner weeks ago if only they had been allowed.

I am self-isolated for one reason and one reason only.
I want no part of the looney toons out there and refuse to participate in this madness.
*** people have been staying in their homes, never to go outside and breathe the fresh air. You know why they are doing this. ***
Not sure where Marcus lives, but we’ve been hitting over a hundred degrees where I am. That fresh air practically scorches your lungs.
Opening up schools would help much with this, for so many reasons. WE can’t really open til the schools are open.
Bingo! People by and large, are fools.

“Why are others locking themselves into their homes?”
“The answer is political. The recluses want to blame President Trump ...”
I have a friend who has been holed up in her house with her husband since February — she and her husband. For them, it isn’t political; they LOVE Trump. They’re just afraid. I don’t understand them.
This was the plan, wasn’t it?
I know a couple Trump supporters who are afraid.
But of the people I know, they pretty much match the stats posted up thread as far as the political breakdown and how they feel about venturing out.
“I seriously ask how much should we really care about their (Democrats not engaging to hurt Trump) well-being as fellow humans when they are hurting so many other fellow humans?”
I say, “Not at all.” If their filthy rotten masks give them Legionnaire’s Disease, pleurisy, and staph infection all at the same time, and send them to the morgue ... good. That would be (1) winning, and (2) reset for the country.
