If you are asking in a generic sense - you first have to understand where Jamaicans came from. On average 92% of Jamaicans are of African descent.
In Kamala’s case one would have to look up her specific Jamaican heritage to better understand her 1/2.
because if her skin color is not white, then she is permitted to identify as an african american, which by the postmodernist worldview, is the same as actually being an african american

When I was young I heard references to “passing” - it meant colored guys n gals who could pass for white. In the age of affirmative action we have various ones trying to pass as black to gain an advantage they aren’t entitled to.

Some whites, liberal women in particular, refer to ANY black as AA. Those from the West Indes look at you funny when you call them African American, as they are neither.

I know a gentleman who came to America from South Africa and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. He was able to track his ancestors to the original Boers that arrived to Africa in 1899-1902.
He was taking a college class where they asked everyone to state their ethnicity. He stated that he was African-American. The professor just about had kittens that this white, blue-eyed, man would say that.
She lost the argument as he takes college classes just to see what’s going on in academia. He already has a Phd. in Psychology and another in Philosophy. Plus he’s a Roman Catholic priest so he’s got a “get out of jail free” card.
I thought Jamaicans were black.
All of them I have seen are black.
