I’ll check “The Patriot” ... thanks!
My household uses and loves Spotify. It is the most functional of all the platforms mentioned. They have signed some big names that are moving away from traditional services.
Spotify inked a multiyear pact with Warner Bros. and DC to produce and distribute an original slate of narrative scripted podcasts.
Spotify Signs Joe Rogan
and many more.
I pay $12 a month for 5 unique logins. My son and I use two and his friends use the other three. In return, my son gets access to his friends’ digital accounts that we do not have to pay for and he uses often.
I am in the process of reducing / minimizing the money I put into the large corporate media. I am not cutting all but reducing a lot of streaming and other as much as possible. Especially the most virtue signal focused like Disney and ESPN. Its the only way to try to change behavior.
I recommend we all do this.
Only get Sirius on e and a while in rental cars. Sorry.
But the fact that Rush, the most popular radio host in America is not on Sirus is shocking. Talk about Leftist...
We use Sirius in our motorhome because we got tired of trying to tune in radio stations as we’re moving along the highway. At first I was disappointed at not being able to get Rush. But I came up with a solution ... we tune him in on an I-Heart station on my phone, t
hen play it through the audio input on
the dash radio.
Fortunately, all subscribers now get access to the SiriusXM streaming app, and Hannity is available on demand. (But Mark is not.)
Rush not being on SiriusXM is a business decision made by Rush himself, not SiriusXM.
i used to do that but for the last couple of years in DJT’s great economy, I let it slide.
Sirius was free for life when I got my truck in 2004. Still have the truck. Sirius has gotten progressively worse as for selection. The classics station keeps moving or they have taken it off.
Usually I just plug the phone in and listen to Pandora or AM talk shows.
I hate having to do that. We were about to cancel Sirius XM a couple of years ago. But when we realized we would be driving 1,700 miles when we moved in the Fall of 2018, we kept the service.
It's coming due in three weeks, and this time I may cancel for good. We aren't using the service much, and our older (2007) vehicle doesn't get it. I just wished the volume control on USB/Bluetooth sources with our newer (2015) vehicle wasn't so out-of-whack with radio source(XM/FM/AM), otherwise I would just use those for music. GM's Infotainment audio system leaves something to be desired.
I've found the key(s) are: (1) say you want to cancel because you can't afford it and then shut up. let them say the next words. And, (2) turn down their first counter-offer .. and then shut up. It gets escalated to someone above the person who answered the phone, and they come back with an even better offer. I'm due to call in a few days, and with the built-in coronavirus economic excuse, I may get creative with my reasoning. It's a game!
I had Sirius years ago but dropped it because I had a job where I couldn’t listen at work and ended up just listening to Rush Limbaugh and local sports talk. It’s a decent service if you are really into music.
That being said, I have a friend who had a free subscription and let it lapse. About 2-3 weeks later they called and offered it to him for like $5/month though w/o the “premium programming.” So if you like it...hold out and you’ll get a pretty good deal.
We have it in a Kia Optima and a Dodge Challenger. Both work great. People say the sound quality isn’t very good but neither is my hearing, so it works for me.
I have a 2020 Corvette Hard Top Convertible on order. It comes with a free 12 Month SIRIUS XM Subscription so I only have to spend $78.000 to save $72.00. That was the hook that made me go for it. LOL #;^)
Good for you. Have fun listening to whats left of terrestrial radio.
We love Escape 69... anti-road rage music and no commercials or talking djs. Plus 125 is Hannity, Levin, etc.
I was the queen of cliff hanger cancelling back in the day when hubs was sending practically ALL his income to non-arrears child support leaving him with about $60-100 a week to “live” on.
I like the Doo-Wop show on 50’s on 5. I usually listen on Sunday nights but it may repeat on other times.
I absolutely love the Sixties Countdown show. I’m such a music trivia guy and they always pop out a few little tidbits I did not know.
Usually bop between 50s, 60s, Underground Garage, Bridge (70’s singer/songwriters) and the Beatles Channel. Once in a while for a change up I’ll do 70s or 80s for a while.
Hubs likes Willie’s Roadhouse and Lithium but all the DJs have become virtue signalers
