D. Keith Mano was the funniest guy writing for NR in the "good ole days". He had some interesting turns of phrase.

For example, he did an essay on going to an X-Rated movie and he described how people were sitting as "cubic furthest packing".

A true comedy genius who is very much missed.

Yes I looked forward to his column every two weeks. Didn’t always appear though.

He made his fortune running his family’s company, which made plumbing compounds that were used for steam heating systems (radiators) of the type that were ubiquitous in NYC last century.

He seemed to have some slight knowledge of goings-on in another type of family wielded considerable influence in the culture of NYC, if you take my meaning. He hinted at this very obliquely.
