Elizabeth Mach, 45, allegedly approached a 50-year-old man after he removed his face covering while leaving a Costco store in Mettawa in Lake County, on June 16, the Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.
Police said Mach slammed her shopping cart into the stranger and told him to put his mask back on because he hadn’t fully exited the store.
It sounds like he’d had his receipt checked and was exiting the warehouse store when Mach rammed his cart. That was her first mistake. She then, according to the report, goes into 2020 freakout mode on him.
“I am a schoolteacher and I have COVID-19,” Mach allegedly told him, before taking her mask off and spitting in the man’s face, police said. She left the store, but was later identified by police, who arrested her on Wednesday.
Claim of superior virtue – “I am a schoolteacher” – followed by brandishing of weapon – “I have COVID-19.” Followed by a potential assault with a deadly weapon – her saliva bearing a deadly virus.
She also violated social distancing and took off her own mask to shout and spit…in the name of shaming someone else for taking off his mask a few feet earlier than she would have liked.
If Mach knew she had COVID and was out shopping, well, that’s a problem. She should not only get off her high horse, she should donate it to the nearest ranch or petting zoo. She was potentially turning Costo into a COVID party.

In considering the statements of Coo-Mo, Gay-Man Newsom, Jersey Murphy, Witless of Michigan et al., this woman should be charged with attempted murder or at least assault with a deadly weapon (i.e., her face) ... an assault both as to transmitting the scary-scary virus as well as a visual assault when she revealed her mug (perhaps an additional charge of indecent exposure).
She does have the nose for that wicked witch look.

According to Chicago Public Schools records, Mach is a special education teacher at Dr. Jorge Prieto Math and Science Academy in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood, earning a salary and benefits worth nearly $100,000 last year.
Principal Andrew Friesma described the allegations against Mach as “behavior that does not align with CPS values” in a letter sent to parents Friday morning.
“We are aware of this situation, and the district is investigating the incident,” said Friesma, adding that he was “unable to discuss details regarding the investigation due to privacy concerns.”
Although most CPS teachers are required to live in Chicago, internal investigations have found indications of rampant residency fraud in the district. A CPS spokesperson declined to say whether Mach has received a waiver to live outside of the city.
However, a source tells Patch she never had a residency waiver, listing a Chicago address as her home in district paperwork. The matter has been referred to the inspector general’s office, according to the source.

walmarts around here give ‘em out for free so i can avoid the coffee and snot staining issue ... i always wear one below the nose and only put it on right before entering a store and removing it the second i’m out the door ...
