A Second Wave of Stupidity
American Greatness ^ | July 5, 2020 | Christopher Roach

First we were warned about an exponential increase. Cases were doubling and tripling in as many days. Soon millions would be sick and dying. Then we were warned of rising deaths, even though many of these deaths had other causes...

The media and experts then began selling tests as the key. Why exactly was unclear, with the vast majority of people having mild symptoms, no cure or vaccine in sight, and no realistic way for our decrepit public health system to do contact tracing. But tests it would be.

We now conduct a lot of tests. “Drive-by” testing has happened in some locales. Private companies, local walk-in clinics, and county health departments are all offering tests. So far, 36 million coronavirus tests have been administered...When Florida began to reopen in early May, the state was reporting 8,000 to 20,000 tests per day. Positive percentages ranged from 8-10 percent. In June and July, the daily testing numbers increased to a range of 34,000 to 78,000 tests per day. During the week of June 24, 10-17 percent were positive among the greater than 400,000 people tested...

Consistent with the earlier Santa Clara study, Florida’s first report of statewide antibody testing showed 4.4 percent of Floridians tested had antibodies. If this is representative—and it was certainly a large sample of more than 120,000 people—this would amount to 900,000 people statewide, a much higher number than today’s 175,000 official case count...

While I would not expect ardent leftists and those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome to care about the reliability of data, I do think local and state authorities are more practical, less ideological, and less able to weather additional shutdowns. Here they are simply too cautious or uninformed to push back against the imperius experts.

But they should...

No, they are either too cowardly or they are corrupt.

No cure in sight, eh?

Liars.

Oh, they will drive a “Cure” all right.

A “Cure” is worth Trillions.

An all powerful alliance between big tech/big pharma/
big government/Deep State/CDC/TSA Tracer Army/ and the WHO
can do all KINDS of amazing things with...

A “Cure”.

The flames of the hysteria are being fanned to drive
that outcome.
(And no, the first several “Cures” they push, won’t.)

The first Cure Our President pushed, HCQ, does work.

(But there’s no money in it.)

Fancy that.

I read someone on FB who said he and his wife waited 2 hours (after registering) to get a covid test- they got tired of waiting and left before getting tested...

A week later they got a call saying that they tested positive.

I understand there are tests one can send away for and take at home.

I would love it if a couple of people got ten test kits each and filmed themselves taking the tests and sending them in, under different names, and if these same people went to some testing centers with undercover cameras and took tests— over the same 24-hr period.

I bet half the tests would come back positive and half negative on each of the same two people.

It would be cool if these same people sent in swabs from their dog, their meatloaf, the slime collecting in the underneath of their Keurig machine, etc.

This guy should be their inspiration.

It’s called “spreading” for a reason. It just didn’t drop into all cities all at once. The “escalation“ you are seeing today Is no different than what we saw in spring for the northeast.

We are testing numbers unheard of, resulting in finding all sorts of cases.

I’ve said all along, watch the ICUs. There is plenty of room. Watch the nursing homes—if they are protecting the elderly, the numbers won’t be a “horror show.”

The disease will keep spreading. Slowly and deliberately. Eventually it will be everywhere.

And if you follow the same rules about distancing, hygiene, and being aware of your comorbidities, you will probably will not get sick. You are not likely to be hospitalized. And you are highly unlikely to die from it.
