“That’s the entire premise of M*A*S*H.”

Mash was an anti-war vehicle based upon a movie. It was not reality. Until a person faces the reality, fear, apprehension, anger, sorrow, and later the regret it had to happen, it isn’t a reality. It’s a television show to sell sponsors’ products. It’s a wall of entertainment surrounding a person to let them see what the show wishes. Reality is a small part of it. They don’t feel the loss. Video games are the same thing. You die, with no pain, and you come back after reset to die again. Reality? Not hardly.

No question MASH was anti-war.

However, using black humor to cope with the carnage of war was a running theme throughout the entire run of the show.
