A Karen is a stereotypical middle aged (typically white, but can be other races) woman who was treated like a princess growing up, and as a result now uses very entitled and temper tantrum behavior to anyone who even mildly inconveniences her.
Ie. the person who treats waitstaff like sh*t, demands to speak to the manager/ceo in a “I’m telling on you and I expect daddy to punish you” attitude to get you fired/punished, and generally then turns the tables around to have a temper tantrum and try to become the victim whenever called out on the behavior. In it’s worst form it involves calling police on people, such as a recently famous case with the central park Karen calling the police on an African American birdwatcher who told the Karen to leash her dog in must-leash zone of the bird reserve area.
As someone who waited tables/bartended in college, I saw many of those type. A bob haircut is especially popular in the Karen types for some reason, and was a warning.
Is there an equivalent named stereotype for men? Just wondering.
