A core principle of the academic movement that shot through elite schools in America since the early nineties was the view that individual rights, humanism, and the democratic process are all just stalking-horses for white supremacy.

Some of the elite schools (Yale, Brown, etc.) were founded by slave traders and their families.

Why don't they ever talk about that?

Well, some have been talking about Yale a good deal. But Elihu Yale (think that’s his name) wasn’t really the founder, he was the FUNDER. And evidently he was a pretty repulsive guy. But nowadays Yale is a pretty repulsive place, so they should keep the name, as they are clearly keeping the money.
