Double Standards – Cop Walks Away Free After Shooting White Male Multiple Times While Ex-Atlanta Officer Was Charged With Killing Of Rayshard Brooks

The former Atlanta police officer facing murder charges in the death of Rayshard Brooks was reprimanded for pointing his gun at a car he and other officers were pursuing in a 2016 chase that violated policy, according to personnel records released by the Atlanta Police Department.

Hundreds of pages of documents regarding the ex-officer, Garrett Rolfe, were made public Friday, as the city continued to face upheaval over the June 12 shooting in a Wendy’s parking lot. At least nine officers have resigned since June, interim police chief Rodney Bryant said Saturday. Others have called out sick, citing unease over prosecutors’ swift decision to charge their colleagues, questions over their training or concern over being challenged and attacked.

The agency has shifted resources to ensure proper coverage of the city, added Bryant, who was appointed to lead the agency after Chief Erika Shields resigned following Brooks’s death. He asked for patience from officers and the public as the department worked toward change.

Now before the mainstream media started with all these police brutalities on blacks, there was a similar case as Atlanta’s shooting of Rayshard Brooks From News 9:

DALTON, Ga. — UPDATE (March 2nd, 2020)

Conasauga Judicial District Attorney Bert Poston has cleared Dalton officer Eduardo Guerrero, according to a report in the The Daily Citizen-News of Dalton.

The newspaper reports that District Attorney Bert Poston has found the shooting “legally justified.” Poston has told the Dalton Police Department that he won’t seek charges.

Dalton Police Officer Guerrero was called after people said David Schmitt of Cohutta was trying to stand in front of or get into vehicles. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Guerrero tried to subdue Schmitt with a stun gun on July 22, but that Schmitt attacked Guerrero and tried to use the stun gun on the officer. Guerrero then shot Schmitt several times.

Schmitt survived, was released from the hospital, and is now in the Whitfield County jail. Jail records show he’s charged with aggravated assault, obstruction of an officer resulting in injury and misdemeanor failure to appear.

Just as a reminder bodycam and dashcam video shows the police officer who shot dead Rayshard Brooks begging the father-of-four to stay alive as he administered CPR to the dying man according to video shot on the scene

The shooting happened two weeks ago at the fast-food restaurant on University Avenue.

Police were called to the scene around 10:30 p.m. after complaints of a man asleep at the wheel near Wendy’s drive-thru line.

The man, later identified as Brooks, failed a field sobriety test, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. When officers tried to take him into custody, a struggled ensued. During the altercation, officials said Brooks grabbed an officer’s Taser and began to run away. Moments later, shots were fired.

Brooks was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Rolfe has been charged with murder by a crooked DA who has a lot of problems of his own right now, and is using the case to win an election.

After you watch the footage, ask yourself if the cop murdered Brooks. Ask yourself why would a man who intended to murder someone be trying to save his life after the shooting? It doesn’t add up.

As you will see, the officers did everything by the book. What happened was at the fault of Rayshard Brooks, not the police.

While there were angry shouts and accusations from people watching nearby, Rolfe can be clearly heard pleading, ‘Mr. Brooks keep breathing. Keep breathing for me.’

The bodycam footage, though bouncing around, captures him kneeling on the ground and giving Brooks CPR as Brosnan looks on.

Rolfe can be seen in the video administering CPR to Brooks until the ambulance arrived, and he can be heard repeatedly calling our Brooks’ name as he tried to keep him alive.

So in the first case, the cop keeps his job no mainstream media outrage, and in the second cop is charged with murder, if this isn't a double standard than I don't know what is!

Don’t forget that the cop that killed rayshard was charged with felony murder...and anyone who knows anything about the law knows that is not legal!

Felony murder: when an offender kills (regardless of intent to kill) in the commission of a dangerous or enumerated crime.

Here is a case in Dallas from a few years ago. Police kneeling on guy until he died. But the guy was white, so no one cared.

Ironically the guy who died was the one called the police.

Liberals and their evil-doing allies only “care” about life when it suits their purposes.

He’s going to be found innocent, because the DA overcharged him, considering the circumstances.

Excellent job, officer Guerrero! Reload, and get back out on patrol!!

“Ironically the guy who died was the one called the police.”

A lot of people make that mistake. Most notably lately the poor Australian woman in...wait for it...Minneapolis.

What makes the double standard far more egregious is that one of the standards (an epidemic of police officers shooting and killing blacks for no reason at all in widely disproportionate numbers by institutionally racist police) is a complete lie, as these two statistics, derived from the FBI Uniform Crime Reporting Website (brought to light by Heather MacDonald of the Wall Street Journal):

Both in raw numbers and percentages of the deaths, more whites than blacks are killed by police. In light of the graphic below, one might conclude that police show more restraint with black suspects than white ones:

“if this isn’t a double standard than I don’t know what is!”

Of course it’s a double standard. Who do you expect to do something about it?

At the end of the day the only ones that is going to fix any injustice is the injured party and his allies.

I don’t see any whites raising hell and rioting in the streets, do you?

As long as that is the case the double standard and injustice will continue undisturbed.

TITLE 16 - CRIMES AND OFFENSES
CHAPTER 5 - CRIMES AGAINST THE PERSON
ARTICLE 1 - HOMICIDE
§ 16-5-1 - Murder; felony murder
O.C.G.A. 16-5-1
16-5-1. Murder; felony murder

(c) A person also commits the offense of murder when, in the commission of a felony, he causes the death of another human being irrespective of malice.

Where was the "commission of a felony" by police officer Rolfe? Remember, that's commission of a felony other than the death of Brooks.

I don't see it. The DA just might be a maroon..

In the fatal chase between Officer Rolfe and Brooks, Brooks turned during the chase on Rolfe and fired, or attempted to fire, the stolen taser. As Rolfe returned fire, Brooks had turned to continue his escape, resulting in dorsal bullet wounds.

And?

And?

And that did not meet the definition for use of deadly force on a fleeing suspect that the Supreme Court laid out in Tennessee v. Garner. Brooks did not pose an imminent threat of death or serious injury to either the police officers or any bystanders.

And you surely know that how again?

The fact that Brooks was fleeing is proven by the fact that he was shot twice in the back. The fact that he did not represent an immediate threat to the lives or safety of the police officers or anyone else results from the fact he was nowhere near anyone when he was shot and he had fired the second dart of the Taser he had taken so he had no weapon to harm anyone with. Shooting him did not meet the requirements laid out in the Tennessee v. Garner decision.

What other was he an imminent threat to?
