Seattle police say a “violent crowd” prevented them reaching two shooting victims — one whom later died — inside the city’s autonomous protest zone Saturday.
Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. local time Saturday to a report of shots fired at Cal Anderson Park inside the area referred to as the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) or Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ), according to a police statement.
“It’s the summer of chaos,” said Mike Solan, president of the Seattle Police Officers’ Guild in an interview on Fox News Saturday.
“Early this morning that violence was raw and real. … One of our community members lost their life and police are still not allowed into that area and were prevented from providing that police service to the area to locate the victim and … to render aid.
“It’s very troubling.”
The suspect or suspects remain at large.
This is what most of the mainstream media reported about and no one mentioned that before the shooting started there was reportedly a huge fight between Antifa and real BLM protestors.
Witnesses said there was heavy drinking throughout the night, then a conflict escalated into gunfire.
Antifa members were beaten up by real BLM protestors.
A short while later Antifa/JBGC members returned & fired multiple shots at the same protestors.

Time to reinstate law and order. I do have to admit struggling with why the police and 1st responder should respond, but then I remember we’re better than that. It’s what separates us between being the great country that we are and an uncivilized 3rd world country mentality. Also, allegedly there was an incident with the ambulance:

Thanks for posting. You have it exactly right. Antifa and BLM are Peas in a Pod but who gets to be in charge is the real issue.
I can almost guarantee that’s true.
None of the strippers i got to know had Any contact with their family.
if you’re that young and have no relationship with your family something bad happened to cause it.
Sexual abuse was probably one of the top reasons.
I know a few girls that were molested from very early ages on...i’m talking started getting molested at 5 years old.

This may well be true. It certainly makes sense if so.
But, unless I’m not seeing the video correctly, the guy on the ground during the fight didn’t look like Antifa. Not dressed in black. Could be Antifa won that round against BLM and the fight went on with a different result. Antifa came back with a gun. Could be.
But this video isn’t enough. We need some eyewitness reports.
Bottom line for me: The video shows a fight. It will take more than that to determine the full sequence of events. There must be a lot witnesses out there. Somebody needs to find out what really went down.

A 19-year-old man was shot early Saturday morning at the CHOP. Another man is in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center. Seattle police officers arrived to the scene around 2:30 a.m. after reports of gun shots. They said a crowd prevented them from finding a shooting victim. They later learned that CHOP medics took the victims to Harborview where the 19-year-old later died.

Our deepest condolences go out to the loved ones of the black protester who was tragically killed this morning by gunfire at the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP). Socialist Alternative and I stand in solidarity with the family and friends of the victim, and with the injured protester now in the hospital, as well as with all community members and fellow activists.
Though we await confirmation of the details of the killing, there are indications that this may have been a right-wing attack. If so, this would not be the first such attack on the Capitol Hill Black Lives Matter protest. As many recall, an armed man drove into the protest action on June 8, and shot black activist Dan Gregory, who had heroically intervened to stop the driver.
We need immediate solidarity with the protest at the CHOP, and unity in our movement against reactionary violence. Our movement refuses to be intimidated.
It is no accident that right-wing hate and violence has grown dramatically with Donald Trump in the White House. If this killing turns out to be a right-wing attack, President Trump bears direct responsibility, since he has fomented reactionary hatred specifically against the peaceful Capitol Hill occupation, and even threatened to intervene with federal troops. Also responsible are the conservative and corporate media outlets, both locally and nationally, which have themselves whipped up right-wing hate by completely misrepresenting the nature of the peaceful protest occupation, and who are continuing to do so even now, claiming that this shooting proves the CHOP is descending into chaos. Seattle’s establishment Mayor Jenny Durkan and Police Chief Carmen Best also share responsibility for having portrayed our protest movement as violent.
It is crucial that the CHOP occupation has developed a self-defense committee, which has played an important role at the encampment, and that general assemblies to ensure ongoing political discussions have been taking place. Socialist Alternative and I believe we should further develop both these important initiatives and the democratic structures of the CHOP with regularly scheduled general assemblies to vote on decisions for the movement, and democratically agreed plans around self defense. Elected committees of self defense have historically played vital roles during general strikes, occupations, and in mass movements, in order for the working class and marginalized people to defend themselves and carry out necessary functions in place of the forces of the state. Our labor movement has a crucial role to play in the protest movement, and should provide people and resources to assist in the defense and organization of CHOP.

Most of us are normal human beings and if people are thumbing their noses at all rules of society, are we supposed to feel sorry for them when they have to suffer the consequences? Not this old gal.
If someone passes you on a hill, driving way over the speed limit, is this writer going to feel bad when they get to the bottom of the hill and see that car wrapped around a tree? They put others lives in peril and we’re supposed to be above that or as written “better than that”? That’s a problem today - no one wants or expects to pay for their bad behavior.
