“Starlink, is a company started by Elon Musk that is attempting to create a space based internet service with hundreds if not thousands of LEO satellites...”

Because running Tesla, SpaceX, the Boring Company... is not enough to keep him busy.

The guy is an absolute force of nature.

Technically, not a scalper either. I’ll stay in a position for minutes if the technical indicators say so. I’m out of all my positions by the end of the day tho. Definitely not a swing trader.

Bezos is a potential competitor with Elon Musk’s StarLink service. Elon has taken the ‘Red Pill’.

Living in Alaska gives me an edge in selection.

I just want to see the ground hardware.

The U.S. military is testing—so far looks good. DARPA wants a similar but smaller network as a strictly military asset. Forty-four thousand of StarLink units could carry defense network in a pinch. Would last a sufficient amount of time to bounce the rubble, even if space assets under attack.

Signed up. Thanks

I have no interest in electric cars. I wouldn’t even if I could fit them with glass pack mufflers and 3” pipes.

But satellite internet sounds interesting. I’ve heard some horror stories about hughes.net, but I’d give this a shot.

>>>Deal with Bezos at your own risk. I have Prime and that’s as far as I’ll go with that Nazi<<<

As others already Posted, this has nothing to do with Bezos.

Secondly, if you really despise Bezos why are you using any Amazon service that he sells, convenience over principle?

“I have Prime and that’s as far as I’ll go with that Nazi.”

I know what you mean. I do’t do FB, Twitter, or google. I use a VPN. I run linux. I don’t have a smartphone. All of that is fine. But doing without Amazon would feel like a hardship, that’s for sure.

I signed up today. I don’t think we’ll be getting any updates until they’re ready to start taking applications to be betas.

Supposedly the Beta Testing won’t start until later this year maybe late August or September..

If you or anyone who has signed up gets notified, I hope you post a response here so we can all know how it goes.

I’m definitely all over it if I become a Beta Tester

Every time you hear about some stimulus package coming out of Washington, you hear about the need for broadband funding....

For anyone outside of a metropolitan area, the question I have is WHY...??

Let Elon Musk develop the system, then whole towns or rural areas could get online for a relatively small amount of money at really high speeds...

This type of technology if it works is going to have a number unforeseen consequences...

Think of all the people who live in NYC or other major metropolitan areas who are facing dwindling police departments, rapidly rising crime, sky high taxes, etc....

Give them the chance to move out into the country and get really good high speed internet service and the reasons for staying in the city will get less and less....

Places like NYC, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, etc...are already bleeding population and this will only cause it to accelerate...

My average latency is 62ms for a ping test.
For a traceroute test it is 16ms.

Start> Run in Windows 7 or in Windows 10, right click on the Start button> Run
Type cmd then click ok.
In the black window that comes up type: ping www.yahoo.com -t
Click ok. Let run for a minute or two then do ctrl C on your keyboard to stop to see the results.

or tracert www.yahoo.com

Let it finish. This will show the number of hops it takes to get there from your location.

This site has both Ping and Traceroute tools. Their Ping tool will show the latency as well.
