Maybe someone should tell ABC World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News that hiding good news to hurt President Donald Trump just solidifies them as liberal propaganda mills.

I did a google search on the headline and got a bunch of articles from various sources about it. Then, about 15 hits down is this headline: America just had its biggest monthly surge in retail sales. But that’s not the full story
It was CNN. :D
The TDS is really strong with those guys. Sure, they pointed out the obvious background behind it, but it is the inclusion in the headline that was comical. They all pointed out that this is climbing out of a hole, but they had to give us that headline.
If they can’t spin it, they’ll spike it.

The 17.7% increase in retail sales in May is indeed good news, especially since it could have been much worse. I believe the forecast was for an 8% increase, so this comfortably beat that.
However, given that March had an 8.2% reduction, and April had a 14.7% reduction, I’m not sure that it is great news. When you compare it to May 2019, it was a 6.1% decrease, and if you look at the 3 months Mar/Apr/May, it was 12.7% lower than the preceeding 3 months (Dec/Jan/Feb).
Good news, but I believe we should temper the GREATEST INCREASE EVER!!!, and acknowledge we’re not anywhere close to being out of the woods yet.
