I used to clean shake machines when I was a teenager, circa 70-73.

We DID NOT USE BLEACH!

We used an IODINE SOLUTION to sterilize them. Very DARK BROWN and visible until machine was clear.............

I guess about everyone did burger joints years ago. In 1970-72, when I got back, I worked MacDonald’s and Kentucky Fried and they didn’t use any solution to clean. The inner workings were dismantled and it was washed with hot water and soap in a deep sink, then reassembled. Your store must have been so busy that time was a issue and they had to clean more often. Might have been a contributor to why OSHA was invented in 1970 and the FDA did more inspections from reports. Never saw either for the two years I was working.
