Mayor Bill de Blasio on Sunday fired back at Gov. Andrew Cuomos threat to shut down Manhattan again if the city didnt enforce social-distancing better saying through a rep that imprisoning people isnt the answer. We must balance safety with peoples need to reopen their businesses, a City Hall spokeswoman said in an e-mail.
We had social distancing ambassadors out all weekend distributing masks and encouraging people to disperse after making their purchases.
These businesses are allowed to be open per the Governors guidelines and we dont believe imprisoning people or taking away their livelihood is the answer.

Manhattan managed to drive out the criminal elements of the 1970’s and create an island of smug but safe wealthy people. Now the element is creeping back in. We might see the collapse of this city again within a generation and it couldn’t happen to a more deserving “culture.”

There’s more people testing positive. That’s the biggest thing going on. If my parents want to talk about how dangerous this airborne Armageddon AIDS virus is, I wouldn’t be able to take them seriously since they are visiting myself and their grandchildren this Sunday and obviously don’t seem to act like they believe that paranoia.
I honestly like it. I like seeing how petty and pathetic they are.
This is also the city that has prohibited it’s contact tracers from asking about protest attendance.
Meanwhile, the state is still frigging locked down for the most part. Phase 3 is as big a joke as the first two.
