David Brooks: America Is In The Middle Of A Climactic Shift
RCP video ^ | 6-6-2020 | Ian Schwartz

Posted on 06/07/2020 8:53:54 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

DAVID BROOKS: I sort of think of it as a hurricane that's happening in an earthquake. The earthquake started in 2014 with Ferguson, with a lot of terrorist killings (??? WTHeck is he talking about?), then with the election of Donald Trump. And we saw ravines open up in our society. We saw divides in politics. We saw racial divides, economic divides, obviously.

And into this comes first a pandemic, just pouring water and exposing all the divides, and then this killing, this murder, which exposes them more. And then you get this generational turnover. You have had a generation of people under 35 who've seen the financial crisis, who've seen a bit of the war in Iraq maybe, but who've seen nothing on global warming.

And so this is a generation that is fed up. And, frankly, a lot of people in the African-American community are fed up. The word I keep hearing is exhausted.

(snip) ...with a generational change, with a sense of America finally turning to race as maybe the central storyline in our history, or our story right now, these are just big, epic shifts. (again WTH?)

And I do think it's like one of those big shifts that happen periodically in American history, '68 or 1890 or 1830. And I think we're in the middle of something — I agree with Mark. I think it's not just a moment. It's a climactic shift...

.... So, I mean, the dumb thing to say is, we're moving left. And the pandemic and this event have just underlined the inequalities in America. And whether you like it or not, I just think that's the reality, if you look at the evidence...

Brooks et al. "think" America currently "in the middle of a climactic shift", can only go one way ('progress' towards the Left).

He used PBS/Marist poll, of which 67% against lockdown, another 67% thinks "Trump Made Racial Tensions Worse", to prove his point that Americans are not as divided as before (50-50 split on almost everything else), all movement towards Biden and rioters.

We shall see. One question for the "exhausted" blacks, why you keep doing the same thing over and over, if you are so fed-up?

Brooks can’t wait for the glorious revolution and the victory of the proletariat.

The left created this Frankenstein monster. They want to keep feeding it until we have full blown communism.

When the USA capitalist system goes down, so will the rest of the world.

And then the monster will eat its own.

I wish that Brooks’ mid-life crisis would end already.

It's a climactic shift...

You're right Brooks. On Nov. 3rd, the Silent Majority, who are fed up with the riots and who hated the unnecessary lockdown, are going to show you what the "climatic shift" is going to look like. Any your side will not be happy.

You know you've reached the end of the line when you have a useless, effete, wealthy white jackass like David Brooks sitting there pontificating about race.

"Race" is the subject that leftists/globalists turn to when they have nothing else to talk about. Donald Trump was elected in 2016 because there are plenty of poor white people in this country who have been left behind by the very same wealthy white globalists who have been screwing everyone else for decades ... and THEY were "exhausted," too.

David Brooks has been wrong so many times, and his frame of reference has been wrong each time.

Which just goes to show you that polls reflect fickle public attitudes at best and are bullsh!t propaganda at worst. These same pollsters were citing figures of 70%-80% in SUPPORT of the lockdowns just a few weeks ago.

The big shift will be globalists now and forever, a continuation of empire and endless warfare if Trump and the senate are lost. A leveling of every strata of society and confiscation of IRAs, SEPs, and pensions will be on the block.

Pity race is being used as the catalyst.

Brooks is Cultural Marxist, so he likely doesn’t buy into the proletarian crap.

" . . . with a generational change, with a sense of America finally turning to race as maybe the central storyline in our history, or our story right now . . . "

We've been talking about race constantly for more than 50 years. We passed affirmative action laws, changed school curricula, and spent a trillion dollars to fight the racism that once dominated the society. Contrary to the lie spread by the left, we have had insititutional "ANTI-racism" for decades.

Ironically, the only institutionalized racism we've seen in recent years has come from the left, with its virulent crusade against "whiteness."

Brooks is not a bright man.

Never forget this: their fundamental goal is radical depopulation.

America has been talking about race for years. What's new is that so many people are out of work and staying at home. It's possible that things will die down when the country is fully open for business again.

Brooks is not a bright man.

Yes, but he has quite a crisp crease in his pants, and that counts for a lot in his world.

What you have is a Trump trap. If he does nothing and let the city burn he is week and ineffective. If he sends in troops to handle the situation he is a tyrant and loses the trust of the American people.

And so President Trump needs to continue to act behind the scenes rounding up those people organizing and manipulating the situation.

At the same time he must take ownership of the issue. He can not continue to play defense or they will continue to call all the plays.

The issue is racial equality and treatment of minority groups in the United States. One thing to remember and lesson we should have learned from Clinton. Symbolism over substance goes a long way with the voting public.

Ask the average Roman how they felt back in the day as their empire crumbled.

Ask the average militant activist rioter/protesters how they feel as they stand on the verge of a great victory over themselves as they destroy 200 plus years of institutions that they have run into the ground with their inane policies.

Make sure to duck tho.. If you are an average American, you aren’t .. anymore.

I'm exhausted too.

However, they insist on staying in the mental and handout plantations that the Rats have built around them, falling for the same "whitey did it to me" slander and voting over and over again for the same crap.

They are indeed exhausted: exhausted of being themselves.

I am sorry, but I had to stop reading. The usual practice here is to post an excerpt and then to editorialize in the comments section. Your presentation is too confusing.
