In democrat towns, the police force has often become the Department of Public Safety in their organizational rules if not in their name. They're often a social petrie dish for the mayor, the chief and the city council. Take De Blasio's recent call for a 'light touch' in response to violent anti-cop riots.

Their rules have become conflicted and PC. Their hires would surprise if not be unrecognizable to many of us. Individual officers do not behave as we would expect because of their praise, reward and punishment system within their force.

I believe that if something needs reform within such cities' police forces, it would be to make them more a typical Texas police force--strict, no nonsense law and order!

I'm tempted to think Chauvin responded to Floyd more out of the experience the two of them shared having worked together than out of any personal or institutionalized racism.
