Police Arrested 60 Rioters in Detroit; Nearly Two-Thirds Were from Suburbs

Nearly two-thirds of the 60 people arrested Friday night during riots in downtown Detroit over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis were from the city’s predominantly white suburbs.

Thirty-seven of those taken into custody were from places like Warren, Farmington Hills, West Bloomfield and even Grand Blanc, which is about 60 miles (96 kilometers) northwest of Detroit, Detroit Police Chief James Craig said Saturday....Although Detroit is about 80% black, many of those arrested were white.

For all practical purposes, “suburbs” = the general metropolitan area. In other words, these aren’t all ghetto kids, but they are urbanites from the general area where the riots are happening. In other words, Antifa plus BLM plus miscellaneous local thugs. They aren’t coming in from the hinterlands or Russia or wherever these lunatic mayors claim they are coming from.

They're coming in from the suburbs to loot stores, commit violence and wreak havoc in the downtown areas. After they've had their fun, they'll return home to the safety of the suburbs. A lot of them are young, white radicals who are still living with their parents - they have no reason to care about the property they are destroying or the mayhem they are causing. If by some remote chance they are actually arrested, their parents will bail them out and they'll go home to await a sentence that will consist of a few dozen hours of community service.
