What a way to pay homage to their sports heroes. Rioters in Atlanta took their frustrations out on the College Football Hall Of Fame, smashing out the windows, vandalizing the place, and looting priceless memorabilia. Because somehow its racist symbol of white supremacy. Somehow.

It’s one thing to trash a police car (still a crime) because you are angry at the police, but what do all these businesses and restaurants being looted or vandalized have to do with anything? Why can’t these miscreants stay focused on the target of their protests and leave everyone else alone?
They like to destroy things. They are miserable and hate for anyone to be happy. They get a kick out of knowing that now no one will be able to enjoy the museum.

We used to be better than this, more like. The minute the rabble started the vandalism, all the legitimate protestors should have walked away and separated from them.

A recent film has the male character attempting to unlock a phone. He unsuccessfully tries 1492, 1776. The female costar bemoans his use of the most repressive dates known to man.
Black Americans, black American males, are HUGE college and professional football fans. So wrecking the National Collegiate Football Hall of Fame is sort of like pissing on a lot of famous black American athletes.
Not that the rioters enjoyed widespread sympathy before, but this action combined with the report today that the medical examiner’s autopsy did not find strangulation or asphyxiation as a cause of death is going to sour public sympathies, such as they are, even further.
As Mr. Smithers would say, “Eggggcellent!”
Mayors pleading with evil people to behave is not going to stop the rioting.
As an 11 year old kid I lived through the riot in Newark, NJ in July of 1967. 26 people were killed. To this day Newark has never really recovered. This? This is nothing.
