What a way to pay homage to their sports heroes. Rioters in Atlanta took their frustrations out on the College Football Hall Of Fame, smashing out the windows, vandalizing the place, and looting priceless memorabilia. Because somehow it’s racist symbol of white supremacy. Somehow.

"Destroyed" might be too strong. Severely damaged is more like it.

It’s one thing to trash a police car (still a crime) because you are angry at the police, but what do all these businesses and restaurants being looted or vandalized have to do with anything? Why can’t these miscreants stay focused on the target of their protests and leave everyone else alone?

They like to destroy things. They are miserable and hate for anyone to be happy. They get a kick out of knowing that now no one will be able to enjoy the museum.

So a very large majority of college football players are black and have been so since at least the 60’s

Yup. Screw your own kind to make a statement. Makes sense to me. /sarc

OJ has come back to get his Heisman

It used to be at USC, but they removed it in 1995.

Wonder whatever happened to it?

a collector has it...O.J. owed the guy some money, and gave it to him to avoid the Goldmans getting and selling it to pay his debt.

Since the damage, a spokesperson for the College Football Hall of Fame has released a statement that reads:
"First and foremost, our hearts go out to the friends and family of George Floyd. We support the peaceful protests that honor his memory but unfortunately, they deteriorated into chaos and disorder. We are heartbroken to see the damage to our city and the Hall of Fame. As our Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said… We are better than this, better than this as a city, and better than this as a country."

Actually, no, we're not better than this. These things happen in America because this is who we are.

We used to be better than this, more like. The minute the rabble started the vandalism, all the legitimate protestors should have walked away and separated from them.

Ah - the stuff was more valuable.

They knew exactly what they were going after.

Libraries are safe.

>> Because somehow it’s racist symbol of white supremacy.

A recent film has the male character attempting to unlock a phone. He unsuccessfully tries 1492, 1776. The female costar bemoans his use of the most repressive dates known to man.

Black Americans, black American males, are HUGE college and professional football fans. So wrecking the National Collegiate Football Hall of Fame is sort of like pissing on a lot of famous black American athletes.

Not that the rioters enjoyed widespread sympathy before, but this action combined with the report today that the medical examiner’s autopsy did not find strangulation or asphyxiation as a cause of death is going to sour public sympathies, such as they are, even further.

As Mr. Smithers would say, “Eggggcellent!”

Every person who is “better than this” would have gone home, thereby exposing the criminals who are looting and burning. AntiFA type anarchists do not care one bit about a city that may not even be where they live.

Mayors pleading with evil people to behave is not going to stop the rioting.

As an 11 year old kid I lived through the riot in Newark, NJ in July of 1967. 26 people were killed. To this day Newark has never really recovered. This? This is nothing.
