Defying the state’s order that shuttered health clubs due to coronavirus (COVID-19), a gym in New Jersey reopened with the support of hundreds of protesters on Monday, according to NJ.com.
People began gathering outside the Atilis Gym in Bellmawr several hours before it reopened at 8 a.m. Monday.
Ian Smith, co-owner of Atilis Gym in Bellmawr, unlocked the doors and let some members inside after their temperatures were checked, the Advance’s sister publication, reported. Police were seen responding to the club.
Protesters, some without face coverings, sang the National Anthem, shouted slogans about the need to reopen businesses and return to work in New Jersey. Some protesters also expressed support for President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign.
Around 10:30 a.m. Bellmawr police officers approached the door through the crowd to speak with the gym’s owners. The officers informed them that they were “formally” in violation of the shutdown order.
“We are and only were here for everybody’s safety today. We planned for the worst and hoped for the best, and it seems like that’s what we have out here today,” the officer said to the owners and surrounding crowd.
“Formally, you are all in violation of the executive order. On that note, have a good day. Everybody be safe,” the officer said before walking away as the crowd erupted in cheers.

“We think so far, this has been just a gross violation of constitutional rights,” said Atilis Gym owner Ian Smith in an interview on Tucker Carlson Tonight. “The 14th Amendment states that no state shall pass any law that infringes upon our rights as citizens, and we’ve been forced into our homes. Enough is enough.”
The Constitution is making a comeback and these cops are real patriots.

That video made my day. In fact, today has been a pretty good day for freedom. Oregon’s lockdown was deemed unconstitutional, and the police are making a special point —going out of their way— to show the people and the little dictators what will or will not be enforced.
It s been mentioned here on FR that they waited till the crowd left and then went in. $1000 fine for every day he remains open.
I note they had a SWAT team on standby, as if prepared to go full Waco on the gym.
Oregon’s law wasn’t deemed unconstitutional.
The governor’s orders were deemed not in compliance with the law.
“A judge in rural Oregon on Monday tossed out statewide coronavirus restrictions imposed by Democratic Gov. Kate Brown, saying she didn’t seek the Legislature’s approval to extend the stay-at-home orders beyond a 28-day limit.”
This was on the local news and the governor promises to give them a hard spanking tomorrow.
