Actually, Islam (or at least an orthodox Asharite version which prevailed) is incompatible with being civilized. Orthodox Islam asserts that Allah is the direct cause of everything that happens. In Islam there is no room for the laws of nature that can be discovered by human reason becaue such laws would diminish Allah’s greatness. Any scientist automatically commits blasphemy.
