Perhaps the next time I go to Costco I need to get another multipack of bacon. One counterforce is the collapse of meat demand from restaurants.

A few packing plant workers get the virus. They have been removed.

There is too much demand and pressure in the supply chain to stop the processing and delivery of meat. They will make the adjustments and keep going.

Chicken is already hard to find near me, same for pork. I don't even look at beef, I cannot afford it.

Strangely, the chicken that does seem to be in very plentiful supply around me is wings. I can find those anywhere. Breasts, thighs, backs and drumsticks not so much.
