Dem Senators Must Vote Acquittal

Posted on 02/02/2020 11:52:19 AM PST by TN4Trump

Anyone who voted for more witnesses must vote for acquittal. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty. If you need more evidence than the case has not been proven and you would have to vote for acquittal. Also, if you voted for more witnesses to make your decision - you are saying the house did not do their job.

"But an impeachment is not a criminal or even a civil trial. It is a political process."

You still have to be certain beyond a reasonable doubt about how you decide to vote. It is certainly reasonable to doubt whether someone is convinced about an issue when he cast a vote to get more information on it before he makes a decision.

The exact mechanisms of a court hearing are not required, but fundamental principles still apply it to be legitimate.

Sure they can abuse their power, because there is no direct check, but that doesn’t make it legitimate.

Any communist who votes for acquittal will be interred at Fort Marcy Park before the end of 2020...

Now, now. Being rational does not apply. These are democrats we are discussing...and dem-lites Romney and Collins. Thus, we must not expect rational reasoning. Liberalism is a mental disease.

They will probably try to impeach him again this spring.

Not a chance.

Not a chance they'll wait that long.

Friday, tops.

All you have to know that demonicRATS are full of carp about the need to hear from more witnesses is that they only invoked the testimony of 17 of the 18 people they deposed.

Who was the 18th?

Word on the street is it was Schiff-faced daughter's boyfriend, Eric Ciamerella.

The senators took an auth requiring each one to swear or affirm that they will “do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws.”

If they voted for witnesses and then vote guilty - their version of “do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws" is guilty until proven innocent. Is that the "fair trial" that they are claiming is being denied?

Better yet, they keep on harping about "fair" trial. What do you suppose would happen if a jury, while deliberating, would ask the judge that the prosecution provide MORE evidence for them to consider before they are able to render a verdict?

The vote will be 52-48 on the first article (Romney voting yes) and 54-46 on the second article (Manchin voting no). It will be a partisan vote except for Romney and Manchin being cute by splitting their votes on the articles.

Romney will get recalled by Utah if he does that. You can take that to the bank.
