The Times also has an op/ed piece this morning advocating that Chief Justice John Roberts issue subpoenas for witnesses under his own authority.

Odd. When in any trial has anyone ever heard of the judge issuing subpoenas to bring witnesses to testify for the prosecution? I'm no lawyer but it seems odd to me.

I just heard on Fox news that the only way to over-rule Roberts subpoena for witnesses is for 2/3 vote by Senate to reject it.
