If they flew out of state to be there...there was at least some willingness involved.

Reading the article, it's on a case-by-case basis...kind of.

If some of the younger girls naiively thought they'd really do MODELING (e.g.a bikini calendar or something with clothes on), and then they were physically intimidated into pr0n, that's one thing.

But for those girls, what were they doing, going unchaperoned, halfway across the country, to have photos of them taken by strange men?

Where are their parents?

For the others, if they knew in advance that sex/nudity was involved, and went anyway, then it's not "ewwww those EVIL MEN" TM.

Women should not be given a pass for their sin just because "Muh Chivalry"TM.

(This was not human trafficking, where the women were beaten/raped/drugged beyond all choice. My preferred punishment for people knowingly doing that, is unprintable on this forum. But women who think -- tee hee, I'm a gurl, I can get away with ANYTHING, and if I get caught I'll just blame men -- throw the book at them.)

“Coerced”?

“This was not human trafficking, where the women were beaten/raped/drugged beyond all choice.”

For some, they did not know what they were getting into until it was too late to say “no.” From the article, this is what the judge said:

“The women are alone in a hotel room with two men they barely know who, although friendly at first, become aggressive and agitated if the women express hesitation or a desire to leave. Several Plaintiffs testified that they had second thoughts prior to or during the shoot but felt they were not in a position to try to leave.”

Perhaps these women did not experience some of the more horrific extremes of abuse that you mentioned, but there is a reason for criminal charges being brought in this particular case. Linked in the article is a WaPo article explaining the criminal charges:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/10/16/men-behind-girlsdoporn-lured-young-women-with-modeling-jobs-then-tricked-them-into-porn-fbi-says/#comments-wrapper

Here are some excerpts:

“the young women submitted applications through websites such as BeginModeling.com”

“Women say that after responding to modeling ads, they were ultimately tricked into performing in pornography that was posted online.”

“A criminal complaint... alleges that some of the women were threatened with ‘legal action or outing’ if they didn’t perform, barred from leaving shoots or even sexually assaulted.”

“The FBI complaint claims the women were not given a chance to read the contracts or allowed to keep a copy, instead rushed into painful sexual encounters... Some allegedly signed after company employees gave them alcohol or marijuana.”

This is why an ounce of common sense is worth a pound of cure. Where where the girls' parents when they decided to go all alone to a hotel room with strange men? It'd be like wearing a MAGA hat in downtown Berkeley all alone.

On this we completely agree. At some point parents must educate their daughters (and sons) on the serious dangers they face in this world. Parents rightly desire to protect their children’s innocence, but they’ve got to be ready to face a dangerous world at least by the time they move out on their own. Unfortunately, even when parents do their best, sometimes young people choose to learn the hard way. These young women were at best very naive to put themselves in this situation. Having known a number of women and men who have been sexually assaulted, I think some of the most painful traumas stem from the victim knowing he or she made stupid choices that put themselves in danger.

These guys were not violent. The women actually got paid. This is about breach of contract violations. Dumb decisions based on greed were done by both sides. but these stories always push a man bad, women good meme and in this case it was men bad, women bad as well. And dumb. They were greedy and dumb and believed something too good to be true, and even those that thought it was iffy still went through with it.

and what is your take on the ever increasing amount of wonen who watch porn, use vibrators or dildos as crude sexist substitute male approximations instead of being with a man? Tell me how all of this is perfectly fine. What about the endless stream of romance porn novels of barbara cartland and danielle steel women use in their masturbation fantasies?

Interesting questions...

About one year ago, a bunch of male high school students exposed their science teacher as a woman appearing in some porn videos...

Ms. Emily Salazar appeared in sex videos with other men...Her husband had the camera.

In an interview with some adult website, she said that she enjoyed watching her own sex tapes...

How naive. You have no idea if they were violent. The criminal investigation supports that violence did occur in some cases.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2019/10/16/men-behind-girlsdoporn-lured-young-women-with-modeling-jobs-then-tricked-them-into-porn-fbi-says/#comments-wrapper

“A criminal complaint filed last week in San Diego, where the company is based, alleges that some of the women were threatened with ‘legal action or outing’ if they didn’t perform, barred from leaving shoots or even sexually assaulted.”

By the way, preventing someone from leaving=kidnapping. This is why there are criminal charges in addition to the civil suit. And these men are looking at possible life in prison, which is warranted based on the evidence.

Even other pornographers have condemned these guys:

“Consent is a huge thing within the business for obvious reasons, [Alec Helmy] said. “And there are a set of standard practices that everyone kind of abides by, and so it’s rather shocking to think that a seemingly full-fledged business was operating that way.”

You’ve got literally hundreds of women coming forward with the same accusations.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7858901/At-100-women-come-forward-claims-against-GirlsDoPorn-scheme.html

“Among the accused are website owners Pratt, and Wolfe, as well as adult film actor Ruben Andre Garcia, 31. The three have also been criminally charged with sex trafficking. Wolfe and Garcia are in custody, however Pratt is believed to have fled the country. The attorney representing the women - all aged between 18 and 23 - said ‘several hundred others’ have come forward since.”

Yes, many women get into porn and other adult entertainment with full consent and understanding of what they are doing. Some get seduced into it just as many get seduced into having consensual sex with someone they are not married to. But many of these women were caught in a trap targeting young, naive women who thought they were being offered a legitimate modeling opportunity. What happened to many of these women would be at least equivalent to date rape by comparison.

These women were harassed and stalked as part of the coercive control these men used as a tactic. They had pornographic images of them sent to their friends and family as a means to extort, silence, and exploit them further. If you think these women have not already been punished enough and that the men are being treated unfairly, perhaps you should join the cult of Muhammed. Those views are welcome among many of his followers.
