The problem was, Iran was already entrenched in Iraq and without also taking out the Iranian regime at the time, it just allowed it to increase it’s influence inside Iraq.
Now the Iraqis are protesting -(300 dead is the latest number I saw)- to get the Iranians out of their country.
Unless the Iranian regime is destroyed, no one is safe.
The IRI has been moving missiles into Iraq in order to attack other countries and have a base with which to move weapons closer to Israel.
I am not at all convinced that any society culturally dominated by Islam can attain freedom in the American sense. This goes well beyond Iran/Iraq conflict.
