Try again:

White non-hispanic Catholics are about as CONSERVATIVE as White Protestants.

Black Protestants vote Democratic. Hispanic Catholics vote Democratic.

Race trumps religion for most, when it comes to how they vote.

Show me the man (or woman) and I will tell you who they will vote for. about 70% correlation with huge ethnic categories. I can predict from 20 feet away and be mostly right, without ever talking to them.

And it hasn't changed in 50 years.

Demographics is Destiny in American politics.

Even Catholic English, Welsh, Scots, or Irish have devolved into socialist/communist apologists.

I See my posts #20 and #21.

White Catholics vote GOP at about the same rate as White Protestants, in 2016, and more generally. Hard to break out the different ethnic groups among either Catholics or Protestants. For Catholics you have your Irish, your Italians, your Polish - I have only seen anecdotal evidence of how these groups vote compared to each other.

For Protestants you have your WASPS, your Germans, but also your Swedes and other Scandinavians - who are by legend notoriously leftist.

You also have your Scots-Irish, who are notoriously notorious.

“The article includes stats on Indian (Hindus) and Pakistanis - they are abysmal.”

Like “Hispanics”, it is probably very worthwhile to look at the distinct groups rolled into the umbrella term “Asians”

Cuban-Americans were long the most Republican leaning demographic, while Mexican-Americans were highly Democrat leaning.

Significant to distinguish among the sub-groups.

South Vietnamese refugees from communism are likely quite different from Indian communists.

Demographics is Destiny in American politics.

Everywhere around the world, population density controls the demand for oppressive government, higher taxes, lower freedoms. People can't blare their stereos, barbecue a pig, shoot their gun at an annoying squirrel if they live in a Manhattan high rise, but have the freedom to do all these things if they live on a farm. Marketing methods for selling soap to different demographics leads to generalizations that are not useful when it comes to politics, and are often harmful.

Everything changes, your age, the climate, your neighbors. You can fight some of these changes but it becomes futile at some point. Fortunately, it's a big world out there. If you don't like how your local world has changed, just pack up and move to some other place where things are to your liking. Vote with your feet. It's far easier to move yourself than try to move 1 million new high density neighbors.

Eventually you run out of places to move to. That's the problem with "White Flight".

While generally I agree with the “demography is destiny” arguments, there remain other issues.

I live in New England, and white voters in states like Vermont and Massachusetts vote heavily Democratic.

Eventually you run out of places to move to.

Locations cycle through the various stages of leftist destruction. There's always some place that's in the state you're looking for, either inside or outside the USA. The communists have finished destroying Vietnam and now it's a hot retirement location. The locals have traditional conservative values and are ambitious and hard working. Venezuela is not there yet but will be eventually.

If you want your present location to stop growing, some places have had success by choking off new water sources. If there's no water, there can be no population growth. But once the first tower crane goes up it's time to throw in the towel and move.

Where do you live? In a general sleet of way, if you don’t mind sharing.

Because there you can assuage your white guilt without suffering the consequences.......for awhile.

Perhaps you are not aware of the liberal “trick”—it is called environmentalism.

Zoning restrictions, as well as refusing to authorize public water or sewer projects in rural communities, guarantees that “undesirables” cannot move into towns in significant numbers.

They also use “historical site and structure” games in New England to stop growth.

Hypocrisy is an art form here.

There is no future for this country as it was created, without a return to Christianity.

It is the essential foundation upon which this country was predicated.

Without a trust in God, mankind looks to itself, and that sin manifests in a secular humanist worldview. The inevitable result is a slide to a leftist, totalitarian government and a deranged society that practices abomination.

Heed the warnings of POTUS 2 John Adams:

“While our Country remains untainted with the principles and manners, which are now producing desolation in so many parts of the world: while she continues sincere and incapable of insidious and impious policy: we shall have the strongest reason to rejoice in the local destination assigned us by Providence.

But should the people of America, once become capable of that deep simulation towards one another and towards foreign nations, which assumes the language of justice and moderation while it is practicing iniquity and extravagance; and displays in the most captivating manner the charming pictures of candour frankness & sincerity while it is rioting in rapine and insolence: this country will be the most miserable habitation in the world.

Because we have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or galantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a Net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”.

I think that location might trump race or religion in some cases, usually between the urban/rural divide but also regionally. There were splits where Catholics went for the republican by 60% and in another state went for the democrat by 60%. Also, exit polling for religion is only done in a very limited number of states, and then applied as a national statistic. Which seems to me to be potentially completely misleading when you have reversed splits by state like that in a group.

These are excellent points and I'm sure you are right, that we can try to read too much into exit polling data.

I find this stuff interesting, but perhaps I've dived too deep into the weeds. I think the author's main point still stands.

Asians and Hispanics always and everywhere vote Democratic. As we import more and more of them, and spread them seemingly to every States and sometimes it seems like almost every Congressional District, the chances for the GOP to win national elections goes down.

At some point in the near future the Dems will achieve the lock-on that they have been bragging about for 20 years.

The GOP doesn't have any plan to overcome that.

The Democrats control the media, public education, higher education, many religious institutions, and most corporations. Statistically, immigrants and their children use welfare at higher rates than natives. Why wouldn’t immigrants assimilate to the America that the Left is creating, rather than traditional America? None of this is a surprise, except to the dogmatic and complicit. Sadly, half the GOP is complicit not to mention the donor class. Even if we took in 0 immigrants a year, we are doomed without also fighting the culture war and retaking our institutions.

You mean the kids who are indoctrinated by the left from the age of 5 to 22, if not 26, at all levels of education?

We need to halt all immigration for ten years while we assimilate the legal ones and remove the illegal aliens.

If we allow the current situation to continue, we will lose our country.

We might do well to accept up to around 3/4 of a million residents of Hong Kong- oh, we may not get many of the elderly whose family members are part of the soil of the mainland or of Formosa- but then again, we might. And their people are not only voting with their feet, but are buying their tickets here with their blood.

Then there are those from Nepal, where they fought a 15-year counterinsurgency against Maoist revolutionaries trying to overthrow King Gahendra. They eventually lost that fight and the Commies are now in control, and most Nepalese are no fonder of them now than they were then. They too are most unlikely to find any attraction for America's wannabee Marxists. Again, how many would make the move is an open question, but there are around 29 million who might.

Add to the mix: about 24 million more from Taiwan, the Republic of China. The Chinese Communists are getting stronger and salivating at the thought of one of their ideological friends in the White House willing to turn his back long enough for the "People's Liberation Army" to move in.

40 to 50 million all told might be a fair guess, totalled from those three sources. In the first breath, the Democrat plan to take over by installing 20 or 30 million Mexican and Central American leftist sympathizers would blow to the winds like so many grasshoppers. But as a side benefit, we'd get to hear the oh-so-tolerant Lefties moan and fume at the Asians pushing their brown and black cannon fodder aside and working their butts off to be the next wave of new Americans. Ayo Ghorkhali!
