Doesn’t matter. 2020 relies on Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.

Of course it can. All it takes is the emergence of a media parity it’s game over for the left everywhere. Why do you think they’re so intent on controlling social media and stamping out any and every opportunity for traditional Americans to take their message big-time?

Only Trump has a chance but that is slim BUT BUT BUT IF and this is a big IF. If the Black and Hispanic numbers keep growing it could happen.

What goes around comes around.

Until the 1990s, Democrats controlled most of the state offices in Texas. There were many counties in Texas that had not elected a Republican since Reconstruction. I know of several rural counties in Texas where they elected the first Republicans since Reconstruction in 1996 and within 5 years there were no Democrats in any office.

On the flip side, Dallas County was one of the first reliably Republican counties in Texas post FDR and now it is entirely Democrat.

Blacks used to nearly all vote Republican (seeing as how it was the Republicans that freed the slaves from the Democrats). In the early 1940s, FDR started successfully buying their votes with federal tax dollars and in the 1960s LBJ doubled down on buying black votes with federal funds. By the 1970s, no Republican presidential candidate could win more than a small fraction of the black vote.

The black Republican vote bottomed out in 2008, when McCain only got 4% of the black vote. In 2012, Romney got 6% of the black vote. In 2016, Trump got 8% of the black vote. Trump is now polling above 20% among blacks. Unless something drastically changes between now and the 2020 election, Trump will almost certainly more than 10% of the black vote.

“It wasn’t long ago, Republicans won suburban areas.”

Speaking of “It wasn’t long ago”, there also used to be hard core Patriotic Democrats. That was way back when, when we all considered ourselves Americans, but had slightly differing opinions on Government policy and regulation. Unfortunately, we then allowed the leftist/communist thugs to completely take over our education/media systems, and progressive brainwashed zombies to take over our Corporations.

It is going to be much harder.

Why do you think that Coumo just enacted every vote cheating tacit known to man. Including early voting. Licenses to Illegals. Automatic voter registration. And making all of the poll books electronic. All of these allow easy vote fraud to take place and avoid detection. And that does not count the nationwide trends where the states are using Soros software not only in the voting machines, but also in overall vote tabulation at the state level.

Yes there are more mind controlled leftest’s to vote, but sorry that just does not explain a lot of what is going on. Fortunately for the democrats the conservative are brainwashed too. They just can’t believe in the level of vote fraud. And conservative just sit back and let the system be changed to a riggable form without even a whimper.

A republican will never win in NY again.

If Trump gets re-elected I feel nearly certain that he’ll be the last republican president. The demographics change just won’t allow it, demographics is destiny. We’re trying to hold back the tide and it can’t be done. Democrats took the long view, we didn’t. They made sure the borders stayed open and took complete control of the education system, we’re now into the second generation of people that can’t think critically and can only spout communist propaganda. In 100 years the only anglo names you’ll find will be on the headstones in unmaintained cemeteries. That is if there is anyone around that’s capable of reading them.

If the GOP could perform better in Westchester County and Long Island, they have a chance.

Sure.

People on the right make an artform of ceding ground off the bat. That is why the trope is to just quickly say “it’s impossible”.

Which is what lots of people on FR said about Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania in 2016.

A lot of people really feel that Bush 43 and Trump will be the last Republican presidents.

Republicans have to appeal to nonwhite voters.

NY state should be split. There’s no true representation of those in upstate NY when you have your votes diluted by NYC.

We just need to run more left-wing Republicans. They’ll win like they have in New Jersey. Right, Puffy ?

I suspect that no republican can win again in any state with a big Socialdemocrat controlled big city except for occasional incompetence as was demonstrated by the Democcrat vote counters in Broward and Palm Beach Counties in Florida in 2016. There is no future in relying on Leftie incompetence.

Similar with Arkansas.

When Obama took office in 2012, Arkansas had:

2 Dem US Senators
3 Dem US Representatives and 1 Repub US Representative
Dem governor and Dems heading most state offices

When Trump took office in 2016, Arkansas had:

2 Repub US Senators
4 Repub US Representatives
Repub governor and Repubs heading most state offices

==

Missouri is going through a similar political party switch.

==

Repubs can retake those former states, but they tarnished the Repub brand by not fulfilling promises to their platforms. It will take work.

Political demographics seem to be fluid. Over time, states seem to swing from one party to the other. There are probably studies of why that happens.

After the CW, most of the South was staunchly Democrat. Now, most of the South is staunchly Republican.

After the Reagan landslide of 1984, the ‘rats decided they had to “repeal and replace” the voters. #IllegalImmigration Sadly, they have succeeded in many states.

Yes, but it will be a while. Nothing stays the same in politics. NY used to be Federalist. Then Republican. Then Democrat. Then voted for Reagan and H. W.

In the 1990s, CA had a GOP Gov and Senator and a strong GOP minority in the legislature. Had Ahhhnold not botched the governorship so badly, it might have been viable for a R governor.
