College standards have dropped to such a level that a good percentage of instructors (for you-know-what departments and majors) really do not have the qualifications to go to college, let alone teach there.

Colleges have an interest in keeping ‘butts in the seats’. They will rubber stamp marginal students through to keep them going.

When I went to college in the late 60s, many people thought that those who taught at university were those who weren't sharp enough to make it in the private sector.

Over the years reading some of the claptrap from these so-called college professors, I tend to agree with that sentiment.
