Personally, I suspect that if Ciaramella is not the operative in this case, then there is no operative and the whole thing is a fiction.

I think there are MULTIPLE operatives in this case -- and they're being trotted out as "whistleblowers" because Schiff is trying to construct them as people who were witnesses to some kind of wrongdoing.
The problem they have is that they were witnesses to normal government operations, and they simply didn't like the policy direction of the Trump administration. That's why the whole thing has taken such a comical turn. There is no "whistleblower" because there was nothing to report, and the Trump administration verified this by releasing the transcript of the call to show that it had nothing to hide.

Based on Taylor’s opening statement, I’ve believe that Taylor is the whistleblower. He matches up with the complaint AND he went around soliciting others to agree with him.
