Her mother separated from her father when she was 5. Her father then turned around and committed suicide sending her mother, her brother, and herself into poverty. She was passed off to a caregiver who allegedly sexually & physically abused her. This all occurred between the ages of 5 to 9 years of age.

So I'm sure these played a part. Her 3 marriages include her first marriage while still a teenager in 1984. After finding Christianity her marriage failed. In 1990 or 1991, not real clear, she married pastor Randy White (not the football player). The announcement that their marriage was ending occurred in 2007, and was an amicable divorce (the 2nd for both). She then married Johnathan Cain of Journey fame in 2015.

She has been surrounded by controversy for sure though. 8>)
