Amazon.com will probably get into the restaurant business soon, delivering cooked food along with 30 minute delivery of other items. Amazon is up-ending the whole American economy. A good thing is they are making country living nicer, like Sears & Roebuck did for early America.

I don’t remember any table service in here.

...

And the sign says no phone orders.

I love to eat out but we’ve got so much food in the freezers that we’ve got to eat up.....and then there’s the dribbling of money down the sink which you don’t even think about...

it’s awful...like all the cell phone orders which take precedent at places like Starbucks (where I only go if I absolutely HAVE TO anyway) at the expense of customers who give their orders in-store.

I couldn't agree more and in fact, I totally go out of my way to avoid places with any kind of takeout service. There is a restaurant near me that I have gone to for years. Twice in a row not that long ago, I went there and even though the place wasn't that busy, my order took forever... when I asked what was going on, I was told that they "had a very high load of Uber orders." When I left, I told the owner Frank that I wasn't coming back and told him why.

On a slightly different topic, I avoid restaurants with takeout windows... way too many flies get in and that is one thing I can't stand.

They need to find a way to keep the take out order hot while they’re doing their deliveries.

In the March 23, 1951 epi of “The New Adventures of Nero Wolfe” - The Final Page, they went a step further by having a catering company show up at the door to serve the prepared meal...

Alas, the host was murdered, and the Inspector sends them away, much to the dismay of would-be guest Nero Wolfe who managed to actually leave his brownstone.

We pick up food every so often at restaurants that offer curbside service.

The only problem time you get it home it warm to cold and the bread on sandwiches etc is mushy

There's a way to skunk that sampling. A couple of Chinese restaurants I went to would put their take-out/delivery orders in big paper grocery bags, fold them down then staple the crap out of it with a heavy duty stapler. No way of tampering with it unless you pull the staples out with pliers, cut a hole in it or just cut the top of the bag off. Made we wonder if that sort of take out packaging is common practice in China designed to defeat unauthorized snacking until it got to the customer.

We have ten hunting dogs, two inside dogs, two cats and a mule. You think you’re owned? ;)

There are only 2 of us. Eating out is BD’s, anniversaries, or coming home from the doctor’s because of fasting. Depending on time of day we split a meal.

Son who manages a pizza place says many have gone to a surcharge for ingredients and NO Delivery. Fear of the $15 a hr charge. Some can’t hire more than a couple of people for help, even for high order areas. Noticed the quality of the food has gone down.

IHop has gone to small eggs, smaller pancakes, and those grinder salt/pepper shakers, Seniors have a hard time using.

If we eat out and a wait staff makes $15 a hr we aren’t tipping that is part of your $15 wage. Now if they make $3.00 which is about normal we tip 20%.

The Kroger’s closest to home has put in a 2nd set of self check outs, and the regular check out lanes may have 2 checkers. Bring your own Bags too. But not their old disposable bags, I use as liners for small trash cans or wet, smelly cooking ingredients like corn husk, melon hulls or fat off meat. Fridge clean out.

Or the 2 yr old grand daughter’s smelly poop diapers.

ROTFLMAO!!! At least you’re not as badly off as the guy in Chicago who’s pet is a 26’ reticulated python named “Baby.” That’s really being owned.

Say No To Snakes! *SHUDDER*

I found a Bull Snake, pretty much full grown, down by the barn the other day. Those jerks look just like Rattlers (which we DON'T have, thank gawd!) and they'll even shake their tails at you like a Rattler.

I had Beau come down and identify it, just to be sure I wasn't hallucinating! Yikes!

See what I mean? Eeek! We didn't harm it, of course; they're endangered here in Wisconsin.
