Why even bother showing up for work when they can't cross examine, they can't call witnesses, they can't subpoena, they aren't privy to vital information, and they only hear information when it is splashed up on news tickers on cable news shows when they see the words "sources say." Republicans might as well show up when Dems say they are ready to open it up.
Schiff won't allow anything opened up because he says Republicans will share information, but someone is still leaking, and they turn out to be leaks that support the Democrats' narrative, they are Orange Man Bad, and no way to cross examine them in real time like all others before have allowed.
The Constitution says the House has power over impeachment, but that does not mean Pelosi, nor Schiff, nor even just the majority.
Because the constitution gives the power of impeachment to the Democrat party, not to the entire House of Representatives.
2nd hand, third hand, fourth hand info, no due process, Schiff lies that he didn’t mean with a whistleblower, leaks info that only helps him, no way to cross examine what Schiff leaks, can’t call witnesses.
Dems might as well rip up the Constitution as all our rights as Americans are going up in smoke.

That interpretation has lead to no due process which the co-equal Judicial Branch may take exception to.
The Constitution says the House, not the majority at that time period whenever it might be within the House.
Republicans, including many of those who were part of the demonstration yesterday, are of course allowed in the proceedings when they sit on the relevant committees and have full access to all the documentation.

It is standard operating procedure when the Dems are in the majority.
Recall during the Obamacare committee meetings the Republicans were locked out — by Speaker Pelosi. That was about the same time that she uttered her famous ‘we will have to pass the bill to find out what is in it’ remark. Recall that she also toyed with the procedural change of ‘deeming the bill passed’ without a vote.
Ironically, if a Republican majority did that, the Dems would be squealing to the media like a bunch of stuck pigs.

I am generally the last to place an /s next to my comments that are sarcastic and the first to give a wide berth on this, but it was an instance where it did not seem sarcastic to me.
Republicans who are part of all of the committees have complete and full access to 100% of all that is taking place. It’s behind closed doors for the same reason as the Benghazi hearings held by the Republicans. There are national security implications to the questions being asked. The impeachment trial itself will take place in open session.
I use the /s in this instance to cover my 6, because even when I think I am being obviously sarcastic, someone will still take me literally.
But I don’t think my president is insane, and I do think that they are taking his humor out of context to make it appear as if he is.
In the Benghazi hearing, the event in question was intimately entwined with a large CIA operation a mile from the embassy (+25 CIA people) which was ALSO under attack.
That’s very VERY different from this hearing, NOTHING about it is classified.
