This was their first lease in England. We’ll see when the next one comes up, if it does.

Since we still, as of now, have that strength, Chick-fil-A
will live to fight another day. And so will everyone else

And soon, whether in one place or another, Brits will be
enjoying the most important pickle in the world, and
delicious waffle fries to boot.

Even if the “boot” is what the first UK attempt is getting.

Sad that history has to repeat itself over and over again. But humans will never learn from their mistakes. We are essentially territorial tribal animals.

At least in the in the US when we stumble and fall flat on our faces, we get up, fix our wounds, and head in the right direction. But it is not without pain and suffering and it seems winning or losing rests on a knife’s edge.

And then we become complacent ingrates and we repeat the whole thing again.

And the good guys will win again.

I guess your view of the outcome of the first 'civil war' may depend on your view of the proper role of the federal government, in our constitutional republic. It is worth noting, however, that the Constitution (as it existed in 1860-61) nowhere prohibited State seccession; quite the opposite, in fact, if the Tenth Amendment (like the First, Second, etc.) actually means what it says...

;^)
