The trial will allow Trump to mount his defense. Currently all public is hearing is the leaks designed to hurt Trump. Trump will campaign in states where senators are weak and he is strong. Also he will make deals and put pressure on opponents like he does with foreign governments and California.
Don't look for favorable rulings from John Roberts, who will be in the chair for the "trial".
