My congress critter, DeFazio, owns a couple of homes in NZ. He said it reminds him of America in the ‘50s. Be a damn shame if the place were embroiled in revolution when he was ready to retire there.
Roughly half the population is alert, aware of what's going on to varying degrees, and determined to drive out the forces of decadence and soar to new and greater heights of ascendency.
In the USA, it is President Trump and his supporters who are determined to soar into ascendency.
It's a Manichaean struggle between evil and good, between mendacity and truth, between darkness and light, between demons and angels, between the devil and God.
In the USA the forces of evil are championed by the Democrat Party, which has degenerated to the pathetic position of championing such evils as infanticide, war, crime, e.g. illegal immigration and voter fraud, abortion, the end justifying the means, propaganda masquerading as "journalism," sexual perversion, et al.
The Democrat Party is in the same pathetic position it was in a century and a half ago when the Democrat Party was championing slavery--of all things!--as a great virtue!
It's hard to know what the final outcome will be, but I advise all honest, benevolent people to cast their lot on the side of the angels!
It wasn’t just a prediction, a gun grab was this scumbag’s expressed specific goal. And not in New Zealand, his stated goal was to get it to happen in the US, as he saw it as the only place where it now might cause civil unrest. It’s all in his manifest. I really can’t believe a bigger deal wasn’t made about it, but both sides wanted to minimize it I guess.

I’m kind of doubtful as well, I’m not sure any political enormity would cause civil unrest here with the conditions as they are now. I can think of maybe 3 things that would possibly cause it: Gun confiscation, failure of entitlement payments, maybe turning the internet/screen entertainment off. It’s hard to imagine the last two happening without the economy catastrophically falling apart as well which of course changes the current conditions.

“Roughly half the population is alert...”
Not enough to deign to vote about it. The eligible voters who choose not to vote have outnumbered either political party for 100+ years.

In ascendence, the majority of the population is certain, confident, positive, focused, joyful, and optimistic. We see these virtues in President Trump and his supporters.
In contrast, observe the characteristics of his opponents: confused, uncertain, negative, angry, dishonest, miserable, and pessimistic. These are marks of decadence. When a majority of its population is mired in such evils, the civilization decays and falls.
When a majority of its population embraces certainty, confidence, the positive, focus, joy, and optimism the civilization soars into ascendency.
What side would any honest, intelligent, benevolent person choose?
Eligible voter turnout has been around 55-60+% or so for the last few elections. So more choose not to vote than vote for a single political party, which are roughly tied. I’m not sure how that makes a majority of the population certain, confident, positive, focused, joyful, and optimistic. In fact, I would say it’s pretty good evidence of the opposite, there’s huge numbers that just don’t care, at least enough to vote about it one way or the other. Voting is a pretty low bar for determining engagement in society and culture.
