Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United Inc. is making a significant investment in its operations in Georgia.
The Birmingham company is building a state-of-the-art 300,000-square-foot facility in Tifton, Georgia. The $60 million investment will result in hiring about 200 people. The center will also distribute about 4.5 million cases of non-alcoholic beverages to customers a year after opening in late 2021.
We are thrilled about our plans to build a new facility in Tifton as it will allow us to optimize our distribution network and better serve our customers for decades to come, said John Sherman, president and CEO of Coca-Cola Bottling Co. United. "This decision is part of our companys broader strategy to invest in our expanded footprint which has more than tripled since 2014 to benefit our associates, our customers and our communities.
The Tifton facility will include a sales and distribution center, warehouse and office space and will serve as a hub to distribute products and services to customers and other smaller Coca-Cola sales facilities throughout south Georgia and parts of the Florida Panhandle.
