“The Institute for Supply Management, or ISM, published its September report on manufacturing Tuesday. It caused a stir to say the least. The Dow Jones Industrial Averageplunged 484 points, or 1.8%, from intraday highs reached just before the reports 10 a.m. release. The pain continued for investors on Wednesdaythe Dow fell another 1.9%.”
“Even though there is conflicting data, the fact remains that U.S. manufacturing is in a downtrend. Lower interest rates and an end to the U.S.-China `trade conflict would help the manufacturing sector”
