First plane I ever flew and first plane I solo-ed in. I had no idea what I was doing. Good thing I had two great instructors; Tom Padden and J.P. Giguere (who was KIA 2 yrs later in Grenada).

That was a handful for a cherry.

Started out in a T-34 which I think was like driving your grandmother's station wagon in comparison.

My training was all non-military with retired military neighbors as instructors. My next door neighbor had a T-6 he kept at Brown field. He introduced me to aerobatics.
