Ok, answer this: How many times have you seen a septuagenarian come into your ER suffering from chest pains and requiring multiple stent insertions whose enzymes were not elevated?

My cardiologist tells me it has never happened in his long years of experience.

I’ve seen people with full blown massive MI on their EKG, classic “tombstone”ST elevation with negative enzymes . It takes time for the troponin to start to elevate. But the EKG can respond immediately.

I think the point is a person can have heart attack symptoms, but if there is no tissue damage then they can have a complete recovery after treatment.
