‘We’ve been taken hostage’: African migrants stranded in Mexico after Trump's crackdown
The Manchester Guardian ^ | September 30, 2019 | Jo Tuckman in Tapachula, Mexico

Posted on 10/02/2019 1:02:14 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Neh knew she was taking a risk when she got involved with English-language activists in mostly-Francophone Cameroon.

She had no way of know that her decision would eventually force her to flee her country, fly halfway across the world and then set out on a 4,000-mile trek through dense jungle and across seven borders – only to leave her stranded in southern Mexico, where her hopes of finding safety in the US were blocked by the Mexican government’s efforts to placate Donald Trump’s anti-migrant rage.

“It is just too much,” sobbed Neh,at a protest camp set up by migrants from across Africa outside the main immigration offices in the sweltering southern city of Tapachula. “We thought our suffering was almost over. And now we’re stuck here, treated like the lowest citizens on earth.”

Not that long ago, Neh worked as a microfinance officer and lived with her husband and three children in a small town in the West of Cameroon. Earlier this year, she joined a group campaigning for anglophone independence. She insists her activism was peaceful and that she never supported rebel groups, but amid spiralling violence, she was arrested, beaten, and raped by soldiers. One night, an officer took her from her cell and told her to start running. She imagined she was about to die – but instead she ran into the arms of her husband who had paid a bribe for her freedom.

Seems like there would be ports of entry for people who have been politically persecuted that would not require crossing a border country. Are there any ports for those entering from across the water?

I don’t know if there are ocean liners coming here from overseas anymore. Anybody know?

Political theater.

All she needs to do is get one foot on USA soil.

If she asks for asylum - it's straight back to Mexico.

Instead, if she only demands her day in court for illegally crossing the border, she will get Catch and Release within a week or two.

The only reason they apply for asylum is because they are eligible for welfare and work permits while their case is being litigated - which can take years.

Bottom Line - every “refugee” who gets to the southern border knows this.

And, almost no American-born voters know this.

Why is francophone vs anglophone an “activist-issue” in Cameroon? Canada has both, and seems to manage. Is language now grounds for refugee status? And if one is a “micro-finance officer” (and married to boot) wouldn’t one have the means to apply for a visa instead of trekking through a jungle with shady characters? This one has very bad decision making abilities and about zero horse sense.

Earlier this year, she joined a group campaigning for anglophone independence.

There are other English speaking countries in Africa. Why come to the USA...we are becoming a Spanish speaking country.

By the way, as a person of colour, wouldn't she feel more comfortable is a country with other persons of colour, rather than racist white America?

If you read the article carefully, it be becomes obvious that a coalition of NGOs are recruiting people who are members of violent revolutionary and separatist rebel movements that are currently engaged in fomenting and fighting civil wars in their own countries. These recruits are first trafficked (often illegally) to Central America countries with minimal visa controls to be staged for illegal trafficking to the United States. They are then put on the illegal underground human trafficking network that infiltrated them up to the American border where file fraudulent asylum claims

The majority of these people ARE NOT refugees but are instead the members of violent rebel, insurgent or separatist groups in their home countries and many are the violent revolutionaries and combatants who are terrorizing true refugees in their home countries

Nobody seems to be asking how and why NGOs are recruiting members of a diverse, world wide array of violent rebel and revolutionary organizations and transporting them first to staging camps in lawless Central American countries and then sending them to America via the NGOs well financed and well organized underground illegal human trafficking networks

Many of these people are the opposite of refugees, they are the brutal and vicious combatants that true refugees are fleeing who are masquerading as refugees to get asylum and welfare in the US

They are the future Ilhan Omars ( child of leader of Somali warlord group who was defeated and ousted from Somalia ) of this country who come to our country to form the radical vanguard of a American socialist revolution.

0bama spent taxpayer dollars advertising in the third world to make sure they knew it. This invasion was a coordinated attack, a good bit of it funded by Soros leveraging OUR taxes.

We don’t want them either. Wish lefty media outlets didn’t keep trying to convince everybody to let the entire world move here like they own the place.

She will get in and eventually become another Omar. Worst case she waits Trump out. Next DEM administration will open the floodgates and tell Border Patrol to get out of the way.

Just for the manner in which the article is written, she can FOAD, for all I care...

Such boo chit, the premise of these articles are.

On a average, we admit 26,000’ish people per year on asylum claims every year.

At what point, really. And country of origin, in particular, do limit the number of claims?

Re: NGOs

The obvious first guess as to who funds these people would be a George Soros Foundation.

But be careful saying that out loud.

One of the top executives at Judicial Watch implicated Soros in the Central American chaos about six months ago and got instantly banned from Fox News for being anti-Semitic (Soros is Jewish).

Turned out the Judicial Watch guy is married to a Jewish woman, but Fox still won't let him back on the air.

Screw them. We’re not the pot of gold at the end of anybody’s rainbow. Go back to your own country and fix it.
