I knew him in the USMC.
He was a former HAWK missile man who became a WO in public affairs. He wrote a weekly article in the base paper, but he wasn’t a badass.

Halfway through my career in adult corrections, I took a transfer to a newly opened juvenile corrections boot camp. Since
I did not serve in the armed forces, I studied for my position as a drill instructor the same way an actor trained for a role. The most challenging parts were developing the DI voice, and knowing how to teach drill & ceremony. I was fortunate to be the son of a US Marine who helped along with several other friends who did tours as a DI. Best job I ever had.
