New England Patriots defensive end Michael Bennett invoked the Marvel Cinematic Universe movie “Black Panther” during his player intro on “Sunday Night Football.”
During the introduction of the Patriots defensive starters, where players typically state their name and the college they went to, Bennett opted for a different idea.
“Michael Bennett, Wakanda Forever!” Bennett shouted, crossing his arms to emulate the salute given by characters in the movie.

Slightly less offensive and much more nerdy than “black power” or “black lives matter”.
It must be working because the Patriots are CRUSHING the Steelers at the present time.
Rather hear that than “THE Ohio State University”
The Steelers are finished.
Can you imagine feeling genuine racial pride over a fictional nation from a comic book? And they didn’t even do anything other than be gifted some special power from beings from far off lands with different skin color.

Is he aware that Wakanda is a fictional land from comic books and movies?
And if he is not, then his college should be both ashamed of having graduated him, and relieved that he didn’t mention it during this idiocy.
My wife is from Wauconda, IL. Maybe it’s a shout-out to that town featured for a few seconds in Blues Brothers.
