Then there’s the “linkedin” effect.
Whereas I received NO interview offers under ALL of obama’s regime, I started to receive 4 outreaches a week or MORE and it has never slowed down since a little after Trump took office.
For a skill that was for the most part many years outdated, as I had moved on to a new career.
It DOES sound like I’m spinning a yarn. I am not .
Plus I don’t know how to spin yarn :)
THAT’S an indicator of how people are gonna vote!
Last October, when I went to the Big E Fair in West Springfield, MA, Trump hats, pins and other gear were in abundance. Been going to these fairs for decades and never before were they political like this. It seems that Trumpers feel safe there. (I'm going back next month!)
Anyway, I posted on another thread today that approval ratings do not necessarily translate into how an election will turn out. For example, many people might think Trump as being an arrogant SOB, but they are voting for him anyhow. Especially when the alternative is likely to be a gun-grabbing socialist who wants open borders, higher taxes and 17 different bathrooms for all the different genders.
fascinating metric...the linked in effect. i love it.
Fast forward to today. There are Help Wanted signs everywhere.
Another thing is, I know of people who either reluctantly voted for Trump, didn't vote, or maybe even voted for Hillary, who will now be full-throated supporters of Trump. My wife didn't vote in 2016 because she thought Trump was a blowhard. However, she will be voting in 2020 for Trump because she sees all the economic prosperity (she's still uneasy about the tweets, while I love them).
I have yet to meet anyone who voted for Trump in 2016 who won't be voting for him in 2020.
I’ve been hit up by recruiting, mostly Indian, for stuff in far off states or low paying contract tech break/fix with the state.
Every so often, I have put in for something along my line. One phone interview.
I have experienced the same “linked-in” effect that you described.
Interesting, what line of work is that?
What age range?
