Exactly. In fact, it's even worse than blackface. Historically, SOME blackface was done respectfully, i.e. in a genuine (but misguided) tribute to black talent as a cultural value, just as a performer might dress up as a Highlands balladeer (without being a Scot).

At some point, most blackface was comedy/mockery; but it was not always so.

The "Drag Queen" phenomenon is almost 100% brazen, over-the-top contempt for womanhood, and always has been.
