A fundamental belief of Muslims is that Christianity and Judaism’s texts were corrupted, and Mohammad was made a prophet in order to correct things.

Therefore, any discrepancy between Quran and Bible means the Bible is wrong.

The irony is that the Koran also states that the Torah and Injeel were given by Allah. This leaves Muslims with 2 options.

1. The Koran is correct, in which case it's not the word of Allah because the Gospel and Torah refute what's in the Koran.

2. The Koran is incorrect, in which case it's not the word of Allah because it's not inerrant.

The Koran only asserts Judaism and Christianity were corrupted without explanation. Yet there is far more evidence Jewish and Christian texts were were written accurately, given the scholarship on them since they were written. Islam has a really hard time with scholarship that is standard in the Western world.
