King still thinks The Stand was about him.
As in King being Randall Flagg? /rhetorical
I read about the background to that novel. King apparently wanted to do a story in which he had people go on a yuge, significant quest, which a small group of people did in the third part of that novel.
Also, the Stand is probably the only King novel in which a devout Christian — Mother Abigail — was portrayed in a positive light. Hopefully, I am wrong about that point.
