The Justice Department’s IG Doesn’t Need to Delay Issuing the Report on FBI Abuse of the FISA Court

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has delayed issuing a report on its interminable probe into FBI surveillance abuse. See https://www.foxnews.com/politics/reluctant-witnesses-in-fisa-abuse-probe-agree-to-talk-to-doj-inspector-general.

Unfortunately, we cannot trust the Inspector General’s office led by Michael Horowitz to deliver a fair and unbiased report at the end of its lengthy investigation. Like the Mueller Report, it has cost millions of taxpayers’ dollars for career DOJ staffers and investigators to uncover what the rest of the world already knows; i.e., that the FBI and DOJ misled and defrauded the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to obtain warrants to spy on a Trump associate named Carter Page. And, by doing so, the FBI was able to surveil President Trump and his team of advisors before and after his election in 2016. It is well-documented that certain FBI and DOJ officials harbored a strong animus against Trump and actively sought to derail his bid for the presidency in favor of his opponent Hillary Clinton. And it doesn’t take an internal review by a conflicted government agency to investigate the issue endlessly. Justice delayed is justice denied and the OIG has once again delayed one of its high-profile investigations, which has frustrated observers who expect, perhaps foolishly, that the anticipated OIG report will be dispositive of a major scandal within the top ranks of the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department.

We’re counting on Barr and Horowitz to lay it all out so that the swamp can be drained. Now they are shucking and jiving. If they fall we will have just two choices...

The Big Stall continues.

Make no mistake, IG’s are there to protect their own agencies. Horowtitz could have released completed portions of his findings by now. But all he produces is excuses.

The same thing is probably true about Barr. Portions of his findings could phased and released in “tranches”, but they won’t be. The “investigation” will drag on for a long time to come without any “product” being released.

Washington slow walks everything.

...that the FBI and DOJ misled and defrauded the United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court...

I just don't believe this. I don't think the FISA Court was misled. I think they knew it and went right along with the "get Trump" plan. I think Barr should go after the judges, too.

I agree Davikkm. The judges had to be on board with the “Get Trump” plan. I understand that there are still empty cells.

This situation reminds me of Harvey Keitel’s line in the movie “National Treasure”; “Someone’s got to go to prison.” What they’re working on now is who.

Informed speculation says they’re sorting out those who’ll go under the bus and those who’ll go in it and that’s going to take a while; “Hmmm..., what does Brennan know about [name’s] involvement and what can he prove? If he goes down, who will he take with him?” Does anyone really believe that the masterminds of this entire affair, i.e., Obama, Clinton, et al, are going to prison?

People have been imprisoned for life for far less than what we know now - and there is far more and far worse information out there, some of which will NEVER be revealed to the public. This is going to be a masterpiece of selective prosecution. There is no way in hell that the puppeteers and masterminds of this coup, which, among others, includes Obama and Hillary, are going to prison.

Consider the fact that Comey’s daughter is on the prosecution team for the Epstein trial - and that’s under Bill Barr’s Justice Department...

*************

Prison is for the commoners and serfs. The ruling elites always get a pass.

We will see, once again, that equal justice before the law is nothing but a cheap slogan. We have a two tiered justice system and most people now see that reality.

During an IG investigation as they uncover criminal conduct they make referrals to the US Attorney. To date there has been one, on some unnamed FBI official for false statements I believe which of course was declined. IMO, that is all the criminal coming from the DOJ IG.

Next point, the DOJ IG is looking into what happened at the DOJ, that is his authority. He has no authority to look into the CIA, the Office of President, or even the Small Business Administration or National Performing Arts Center. So, anyone expecting Clapper, Brennan, Clinton or anyone else to be dredged up in the IG report is wasting their time IMO. Glossed over now is the unmasking done by the UN Babe and Clinton, Bengazi lies, and a host of other stuff. After all, the Kenyan ran the most honest and scandal free administration by his own admittance.

What really galls me is how gullible the public is. The info for what went on here was in the public and out in the open. The only investigation they needed was to confirm what was in the public and go forth. Was that done, no, not under Jeff the Quake and even if Barr wished to do something now, time, tide and the statutes of limitations have run their course but then again that was the plan from day one: tie up Trump, focus on nonsense, don’t budge and run out the clock.

Worse, while this charade is going on, our nation is being lost to vermin over running the borders and commies taking over each state.

I can't disagree. There is no reason why congress doesn't haul lower court judges in for a few questions.

On Congressional Oversight of Lower Federal Courts.
