Herodotus claims that the Egyptians drank beer because they could not produce wine, but anyone who has consumed Greek wine (which tastes like turpentine because it is aged in pine barrels—and compliments greasy food nicely) will recognize that the Greeks must have consumed their wine because they could not access Canadian beer//only had access to the run-of-the-mill American Beer.
As it is the Canada Day two-four and being in Ontario, I am celebrating appropriately, nearly one-twelfth of my way through a two-four of Loon Lager, a craft brew from Prince Edward County—$1.10 a can- cheap as the price is in the metric dollar. Though the evening did include wine (following a different Canadian beer).
